Representation

The characters in the movie are predominately English because James Bond movies are of the action movie genre therefore audiences expect a British or American hero because they are more relocatable, The main protagonist James Bond (Daniel Craig) is a very masculine character with strong intentions to get the villain which is conventional because action hero's need to be fit, brave, role models.

The females in this movie are shown as objectified and sexualised since the strong men use them in that way shows that men dominate the "action" world. To Bond they are limited to love and it seems they have a need to help him, although they contain some mystery such as they are from foreign countries. The Scientist women is subversive as she is taking action in the movie so not all women are drawn to love.

Villans in the movie are foreign  as they are from Russia, they are presented as very dangerous, unpredictable thugs who rule the world. The have crazy gadgets such as machine guns expensive cars and so on. The viewer is lead to hate them because of the destruction they create to their surroundings and since they want to take down James Bond.

Britain is presented as a very dangerous  place that hosts many crimes and incidents all around the place. This creates an image for foreigners to not visit the uk since its been displayed as a bad place to be in. However the Russians are shown to be evil,crime committing people because they are the people who create the obstacles for James Bond.

Narrative theory

The trailer for Spectre uses many narrative elements typical of the action genre. Propp's character theory relates to this films narrative because Spectre has a clear protagonist, Daniel Craig's character James Bond. Bond is shown to be the strongest character in the movie because he has several set of skills such as using his intelligence to escape from the villain. The heroine is the Russian woman who Bond protects and has romantic feelings towards her. In some characteristics, the Russian woman conforms to conventional heroines for instance she is seen as a prize for James Bond. On the other hand, she could be seen as subversive because she is intelligent scientist, independent, and has an impressive job. The mentor role is one of teacher or guider and you could argue that M fulfils has this role.


In trailer, there is not much evidence to support equilibrium in Todorov's theory, Theres more proof sof disequilibrium which makes perfect sense for a James Bond film. Agent Bond is a spy and he fights crime for a living which makes his like a living chaos in our eyes. To truly find the equilibrium in Spectre you need to really pay attention to small details in the film due the movie is constantly full of energy and action. In the trailer its basically disequilibrium constantly.


For Barthes theory, the enigma code is when the father of the missing daughter reveals to Bond that she is missing. This is an enigma code the reason for this is that the daughter is the only help for Bond so theres a mission for him to find her as he now knows she's missing. The missing girls father commits suicide due to the stress he has, which made the whole situation a lot more intense.Action codes are very conventional in this movie, theres action most of the time. The action code is at its most effective way is when agents Bond finds the girl and now has a duty to keep her safe from the villains, in addition he has also gave his word to find the girl which he does. There are dramatic scenes when Bond has shooting scene or a fighting scene that creates visceralious pleasure to the viewers.

The storyline is clear as it shows us that in this movie, James Bond is on an adventure teaming up with a cooperative agent's daughter to find and eliminate the bad people. Also, he meets a beautiful widow in Rome. James Bond covertly intercepts a secret meeting in which he uncovers the existence of the sinister organizer SPECTRE.

Character
The character is a British actor that plays in movies that are involves violence and brutality. In this movie, he is on a journey to find a cooperative agent's daughter. Then he finds her and teams up with her to find the bad people. The main character is: strong, smart, fearless and brutal which signifies that this movie does belong to the action genre category. He is brave enough to be alone and fight lot of enemies which shows how much love he has for his daughter.

Iconography
The iconography of this movie are: Car chasing, Car drifting, guns, explosions, elaborate clothing, hot ladies and lot of running. The iconography emphasises action because in action movies, it usually involves these iconographies. This movie should belong to action genre.

Setting
The trailer of this movie shows that the settings of this movie is in the mountains and cities. The setting is in the city suggests that this a action movie because the iconographies of this movie usually happens in cities rather than other places.

On the day that their parents die, sisters vanish in the wilderness, prompting a frantic search by their Uncle and his girlfriend. miraculously, the girls are found alive in a decaying cabin, Their uncle welcome them into his home. But as the girlfriend tries to reintroduce the children to a normal life, unexplainable things happened in the house... Only the kids can see this "MAMA" creature. The uncles girlfriend finds that someone or something still wants to tuck them in at night.

Characters:

Two children are attached to a horrific creature; in the trailer you can tell that kids feel trapped and uncomfortable with their surroundings. The uncle who is represented as a relative who truly care for those kids took them in into his house. And finally the girlfriend of the uncle is a caring yet creeped out person because of the "MAMA".

Iconography:

The thing the causes this movie to be a horror movie is because of the jump scares, haunted house, invisible creatures, scared children and involves a spirit.

Settings:

It is mostly set in the uncles house, everything that happens to the kids is in the household.

From the trailer you can tell that the narrative is about conflict, fight between Batman and Superman for power. There could be a story twist since the trailer doesn't show or give a lot of detail about the movie.

Character:
The main characters is Batman and Superman. Superman is a out of this world human, containing over powered strength and god like powers... in the trailer he is shown as a threat to Batman and someone who is a threat to this world. Batman is shown as a hero, strong, powerful mastermind and relied on  to save us.

Iconography:
There is plenty of iconography typical of the action / fantasy genres: gunshots, violence, god like humans with super powers, technology, explosions and smashing glass. All of these are typical of the action fantasy genres.

Setting:
Even though its not clear where the setting is. its fair to say its set in America judging by the court scene and the language is spoken. Another place where they could be is in Gotham predicting this by the batman scene.
